The power stabilizer only regulates the fluctuation but it cannot act as a power supply source in case of a power cut or power failure. In order to continue the power supply power stabilizer is not enough. There is a requirement of another instrument that could provide an interrupted power supply.
UPS
The UPS is an arrangement of batteries and stabilizers that are used by the industries to ensure that the power glitches and fluctuations are regulated properly and also the power supply is continued for a certain amount of time in case of a power glitch. For this, there is an arrangement of batteries and power stabilizer that acts not only as the stabilizer but it also provides power supply by switching to the battery power in case of a power cut to maintain the power to the required for the load. Most commonly used Ups used in industries is the online UPS as it provides better power stabilization as compared to the line interactive UPS and hence is best for the industrial usage.
When there are delicate electronics is involved in the circuit, it is recommended that a power stabilizer is used for the power supply but if there is a crucial requirement for continuous power supply, then a UPS should be used for power backup.
